Random Poetry: Broken Doll

Broken doll, broken doll

Broken into pieces small.

Broken mind, broken heart

Broken like a piece of art.

Broken mirror on the wall

Shards of glass lay on the floor.

Red, red: what a beautiful red!

She laughed and laughed

At the sight of her craft.

Love me, love me!

Screamed her heart.

“Oh, silly, silly, why can’t you see?

The only way is to restart.

You may wait an eternity,

But this was not your destiny.

You may have success and riches and gold,

But you will die with your heart cold.”

I can be strong, she screamed back

“Oh yes you are,

It is only love you will lack.”

Deeper and deeper went her scar.

But her screams won’t travel far.

Hold me, hold me!

She screamed into the night.

Around herself she wound her arms tight.

Kiss me on the head

Tender and sweet,

All she could do was lie and weep.

Broken doll, broken doll

Broken into pieces small.

Broken mind, broken heart

Broken like a piece of art.

Broken shards, red glue

Tell me you don’t have a clue.

I know the one thing I don’t deserve

Is to be gifted true love.
